Now, all I need are the students

SACO – If there was every any doubt that summer was nearly over, that ended today. I spent the afternoon making sure my new teaching space is ready. I unpacked boxes of books, the desks were cleaned and set up, and I entered my lesson plans for the first week into my online classroom.

This summer was busy as usual, but during the last few days, I’ve received some emails from students who will be in my class this year and some who would like a letter of recommendation for their college applications. It all has made me smile and reinforced the notion that I made the right choice eight years ago when I started teaching. On Monday, all the faculty and staff in my school will return and collectively we will begin again. Stay tuned.
